The National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) School Readiness 2022 Data Brief provides insights into the school readiness of children aged 3-5, assessing five key domains: Early Learning Skills, Social-Emotional Development, Self-Regulation, Motor Development, and Health. The data reveals that 63.6% of children were “On Track” across these domains, highlighting the importance of school readiness for future academic success and overall well-being. However, the survey also identifies that 9% of children required support in two or more areas, particularly in Early Learning Skills and Self-Regulation. These findings emphasize the need for continued focus on early childhood development to ensure all children are prepared for school.
