Associations Between Social Media, Adolescent Mental Health, and Wellbeing (systematic review)

This systematic review explores links between social media use and negative mental health outcomes such as depression, anxiety, and body dissatisfaction. It also highlights associations between social media exposure and disordered eating, with body image, self-esteem, and anxiety often mediating these effects. The findings point to the need for strategies that address the psychological and dietary risks of social media among adolescents.
